In the upcoming November’s Engage with Ideas talk titled Fostering Design Literacy to address Extended Producer Responsibility, Oscar Huerta and Catalina Cortés will discuss how companies are learning how to eco-design packaging, in order to facilitate the producer's need for compliance with a new Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) law. In 2016 the national government introduced a legislation which will be enforced in 2023, in which the producers will be responsible for their products from the ‘cradle to grave’.

In the upcoming October's Engage with Ideas, Design Literacy International Network event, Marco Mazzarotto's and Bibiana Oliveira Serpa's talk titled Design Literacy in Action will discuss how Freire’s theory of 'dialogical and anti-dialogical action' (1996 [1970]) may guide design educators to consider what subjectivities they aim 'instill' in their design students.

Linda Keane will explore the Place Based Literacy / Alfabetización Basada en el Lugar / 中文, and how the "Anywhere Anytime E-Learning Toolkit" supports subjects, scales, and approaches, across Project Based Learning (PBL) activities buy cultivating cultural and ecological investigations of the world. Moving through TOOLS, LANGUAGE, DISCOVERY, and DESIGN opportunities, participants scaffold critical skills connecting people and places to the world that could be. The talk is based Linda and Mark Keane's article titled  Design THIS Place: Built Environment Education.

Noël Guillermina will discuss how Design; arising from a culture of innovation and furnished with more than 50 years of human-centred methods, can help face the current challenges posed to healthcare systems by chronic disease and aging populations. But are we ready for it? What is necessary for designers to help face current healthcare challenges? And are design programs preparing students to face these challenges?
